Saturday, September 16, 2017 – Monument Hill & Kreische State Historic Sites, La Grange
Come out to the park at 414 State Loop 92, La Grange, Texas to celebrate Texas Heroes Day . The day begins with a performance by the Monument Hill Singers singing songs by Texans imprisoned in Mexico. Throughout the day, there will be demonstrations of pioneer activities such as: spinning, rug weaving, basket making, soap making, corn shelling. There will be an auction of a Texas flag. At the end of the day, costumed re-enactors will conduct a solemn wreath laying ceremony with black powder rifle volleys.
This will be a great time to tour the park that La Grange is blessed to host in our area. See the amazing view of the Bluff and the Colorado River. Bring your entire family. There will be something for all ages to enjoy. Enjoy seeing our Texas history come alive.
