Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated, forward-thinking Assistant General Manager (AGM) to join our leadership team. The AGM will serve as a key advisor and operational partner to the General Manager, playing a critical role in organizational leadership, strategic execution, and daily operations. This individual will help align internal functions with long-term goals, ensure operational excellence, and represent CVTC within the community and industry.

The ideal candidate has extensive telecommunications experience, financial and regulatory knowledge, a strong sales/marketing background, and a collaborative leadership style.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the General Manager in leading CVTC and its affiliated entities.
  • Oversee daily operations and collaborate with department leaders to ensure smooth functionality.
  • Assist in policy development, strategic planning, and execution of Board-directed initiatives.
  • Work closely with Sales to drive growth and customer engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and financial requirements.
  • Represent CVTC at Board meetings, industry events, and community functions.
  • Mentor staff and foster a high-performance culture.
  • Serve as acting General Manager in the GM’s absence.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five years of progressive leadership experience in telecommunications or broadband.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, telecommunications, management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven background in project management, operations, financial oversight, and regulatory compliance (sales/marketing emphasis strongly preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

General Summary

Maintains the upkeep and maintenance of company buildings and grounds. Duties include but are not limited to plumbing, electrical, landscape, sprinkler systems and coordinating with contractors.

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintains the upkeep and maintenance of company buildings and grounds.
  • Maintains buildings by inspecting and repairing plumbing, electrical and building fixtures as needed.
  • Maintains grounds through mowing, shredding, weed control, pest control, watering, pressure washing, painting, and disposing of trash.
  • Maintains the upkeep of landscape throughout the property or properties.
  • Repairs yards and fences as needed.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the company fleet vehicles.
  • May construct outbuildings and storage sheds using hand and power tools.
  • May assist warehouse or other departments in various tasks when needed.
  • Must have valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift.
  • Must be able to lift and carry loads of at least 50 lbs.
  • May assist Installer/Repairer technicians upon request.
  • May perform custodial duties when needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus one to two years of specialized training in electronics and/or plumbing. Previous facilities maintenance experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems.
  • Knowledge of general building and grounds repair and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures.
  • Skill in operating various grounds and maintenance equipment including mower, weed eater, pressure washer, chemical sprayer, sprinkler systems, tractor, truck and trailer, forklift, lifts, and bucket trucks.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to work at various heights using ladders, lifts, or bucket trucks.

Reconciles bank accounts and cash accounts. Posts entries to specified accounts and prepares journal entries. Verifies transactions to ensure accuracy. May assist with accounts payable process. May assist with processing of cash receipts.  May maintain continuing property records. May perform other general accounting and clerical duties.

  • May assist with maintaining accurate inventory records for company materials.
  • May assist with preparing and filing regulatory reports, as well as sales and use tax reports.
  • May assist with accounts payable process by receiving and obtaining payment approval for invoices, coding and processing payments, and printing and mailing checks.
  • May assist with processing of cash receipts and prepare daily bank deposit.
  • May assist with plant accounting by closing work orders, reconciling accounts and maintaining continuing property records (CPRs)
  • May perform other general accounting and clerical duties including opening and distributing accounting department mail and filing.
  • May collect money owed on unpaid accounts and insufficient fund checks as needed.
  • May research and write off uncollectible accounts as needed.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned by Management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus one year of related work experience.
