Sign up for Customer Alert Information

Sign up for Colorado Valley’s Customer Alert email to receive notification before routine maintenance is scheduled or when there is a known outage.

We do try to minimize impacts to the network when performing maintenance, but it does occasionally require some downtime. Weather, power outages and fiber cuts can also affect network availability. With our Customer Alert email notifications, you’ll be informed when service will be interrupted, helping you to plan accordingly. If you are having trouble and have not received notice of an outage, contact our 24/7 Technical Support line at 877-452-9035.

988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline

In 2020, Congress designated the new 988 dialing code to operate through the existing National Suicide Prevention Lifeline’s (1-800-273-8255) network of over 200 locally operated and funded crisis centers across the country.

988 is a direct connection to care and support for anyone experiencing mental health-related distress including thoughts of suicide, mental health or substance use crisis, or any other kind of emotional distress. People can also dial 988 if they are worried about a loved one who may need crisis support.

The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is funded by SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) and has been administered by Vibrant Emotional Health since it began in 2005. The Lifeline is a national network of over 200 local, independent crisis centers equipped to help people in mental health related distress or experiencing a suicidal crisis via call, chat, or text. The Lifeline provides free and confidential support to people in suicidal crisis or mental health-related distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, across the U.S.

Upcoming FCC POTS Rule will not effect CVCTX services

A Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Order that is effective in August 2022 related to Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS) lines does not affect any services offered by CVCTX. We understand some customers have received calls from certain vendors claiming this FCC Order will require changes to our customers’ services or prices, which is not a true statement.

The FCC’s Memorandum and Opinion Order 19-72 addresses voice-grade copper loops provided in a wholesale arrangement between two carriers, and CVCTX does not provide any services through this type of arrangement. If you receive a call from a vendor asserting your voice line will be decommissioned or prices raised as a result of an FCC mandate, please know this is not true and there are no changes to your CVCTX network or pricing as a result of this FCC action.

Please contact us at 979.242.5911 if you are contacted by one of these vendors and have questions.

Caller ID Spoofing

Several customers have contacted us stating their Colorado Valley telephone number has been spoofed. If you feel that your number has been spoofed, we recommend you visit fcc.gov/spoofing for more information about spoofing and what you can do if your number is being spoofed.

From this link:

If you get calls from people saying your number is showing up on their caller ID, it’s likely that your number has been spoofed. We suggest first that you do not answer any calls from unknown numbers, but if you do, explain that your telephone number is being spoofed and that you did not actually make any calls. You can also place a message on your voicemail letting callers know that your number is being spoofed. Usually, scammers switch numbers frequently. It is likely that within hours they will no longer be using your number.
