Saturday, October 21 – Sunday, October 22, 2017 – Fayetteville, Texas
Come to the Fayetteville Lickskillet Days Festival to celebrate Fayetteville’s German and Czech heritage. This annual event has been going on since 1976. Rumors are that the town of Fayetteville was at one point called “Lick Skillet”. When late-comers complained about all the food being gone, they were told to “lick the skillet”. So get there EARLY!
This family friendly event includes kids’ activities, pumpkin patch, kiddy train ride, ice-cold refreshments, hamburgers, pastries, pies & kolaches, arts and crafts, silly contests, live music, horseshoe tournament, raffles, and a home town parade. The parade starts at 10 am on Sunday. Tours of the historic Courthouse, jail, and Fayetteville Area Heritage Museum will also be available.
The event is sponsored by Fayetteville’s Chamber of Commerce. Call for more information 979-378-4021 or 979-877-5290.
