Colorado Valley Telephone Cooperative, Inc. (CVTC) is seeking a high-impact Assistant General Manager to help lead a trusted, community-centered telecommunications provider into its next chapter.
This is more than a senior leadership role—it is a deliberate succession opportunity. The AGM will work side-by-side with the General Manager, gaining deep exposure to all aspects of the business while preparing to step into the General Manager role over time.
We are looking for a leader who brings strong communication skills, operational insight, and a genuine understanding of rural communities—someone who is ready to lead both now and in the future.

What You’ll Do
Lead Through Communication
- Serve as a clear, credible communicator with employees, customers, board members, and community stakeholders
- Translate strategy into action—ensuring alignment across teams and departments
- Represent the organization with professionalism in community and industry settings
Partner in Leadership & Succession
- Work closely with the General Manager on strategic planning, decision-making, and organizational leadership
- Gain broad exposure across all aspects of the business in preparation for future GM responsibilities
- Help drive a culture of accountability, collaboration, and service excellence
Strengthen Community Connection
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local leaders, customers, and partners
- Ensure decisions reflect the needs and values of the rural communities we serve
- Serve as a visible, engaged, and trusted presence in the community
Advance Rural Broadband & Operations
- Support broadband expansion, network investments, and service delivery initiatives
- Contribute to operational performance, customer satisfaction, and long-term sustainability
- Navigate the evolving rural telecom landscape, including funding programs and regulatory considerations
What We’re Looking For
- Proven leadership experience in telecommunications, broadband, utilities, or infrastructure-based industries
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels—team, board, and community
- Strong understanding of the rural telecom environment and community-based service models
- Strategic thinker with hands-on leadership capability and operational awareness
- Demonstrated potential and desire to grow into a General Manager role
